as i've mentioned in a previous post, my wife has been sending mixed signals to me for years on what she does concerning violating jw rules.
what i didn't mention at the time was that she has also gone through gung ho sprees from time to time.
she is now insisting on taking the kids to the hall.
Remind her you are head of the household. I hope you manage to give the kids the relevant info they need to make an informed choice. Do as much with the kids as you can, show them what life is about. Love them. Love your wife. I agree with the last paragraph of Carlas very good post above...kids learn by example. Hope things work out for you, take care

i spoke to my mother yesterday.
it had been about two weeks and i felt she was due for a call.
mother informed me again that my sister was coming for a visit (she's flying in sunday) but she would only be here until friday.
Your priority is to your hubby MrsJ, you are so right. Stand together, stand firm. And keep smiling, you have love, real, unconditional, love x

i've heard that another 2 people have left the "truth" as soon as they could get out.
both girls were elder's daughters.
they aren't elders now because they were somewhat problem teens.
If 67% of kids leave, and the rest are aging and dying, it MUST be dying as a whole.......mustn't it? Not in my lifetime though I guess.
so as i stated in my first post, i was born to witness parents.
from early on, my parents were both quite fanatical about the "truth.
" we couldn't even eat lucky charms cereal because they thought it had satanic connections.

Since your father is still serving, and is in a position of responsibility, do you worry about him abusing others? Would you consider informing the police about the abuse you suffered for such a long time?

shown by men considered for elder or ms positions.
qualities or true positive character traits are not that important to the wt society in appointments of these men in jw congregations.. no, the real " qualifications " that a jw man needs to exhibit is being able to report 10 hours a month in knocking on people's doors offering wt and awake magazines !
Nothing loving or spiritual about those "qualifications" eh Mr F........sad, very sad.
Clambering for positions within the organisation is more important than the message they sell......and the smug looks of satisfaction on their faces just relays their inner feelings..."I am better than you"

hiya and... i do not really know where to begin... currently a jw... slightly starting to fade... got a girlfriend baptised... i am baptised also... my head is a mess... i do not know what to believe anymore... never really fully trusted elders as it comes to 'leading the flock'... got burned a few times with their ... decisions etc.
read a few articles in here about their alleged false beliefs... do not really know what to do... wondered if any of you felt like that at any point... when something that you trusted and followed most of your life... does not seem to be what you thought it was... .
A belated welcome Jaxxxx, can only say please keep posting here and asking questions, research, read, think........while life outside the cult is uncertain, life inside the cult is a prison. Id rather die standing than live on my knees, and this forum saved me and my son in more ways than one. Ive made some fantastic friends along the way. We are right behind you.

it's been over 3 years since the book study in private homes was discontinued and some jws are still scratching their heads over it.
although a letter was read to all congregations explaining that "book study night" would now be "family worship night", there was still much speculation among jws as to the real reason behind this decision (the great tribulation was about to start, jehovah was simplifying the lives of jws, to lessen the burden of poor jws who had no money for gas, etc.)...
but as we all know, decisions like these from the gb invariably have some ulterior motive behind it... and discussion boards such as this one usually finds a way to dig up the truth for all to see... but after reading several threads on this subject, i'm really not sure we've uncovered all the facts yet.... so i have to ask... what do you believe really ended the book study in private homes?
I think they dropped it because Independent Thinking got out of hand....
on this forum, i have carefully read most of the experiences of those who left the jw religion, i have even read experiences that have dated back to 2001, i have read the different circumstances surrounding their exits and what ensued upon leaving.
for the majority, i observed they are better remainning in the religion than leaving.
what benefit is there to strain family relationship because you want to be free?, please tell me, of what value is that freedom?,.
Mank, why dont you answer some of the many questions posters have posed, instead of ignoring them and posing a question everytime you post. It would be the Christian thing to do, dont you think?

quite the shocker... the society's lawyer statesthere is no true physical body of people, but only a theological arrangement.

just wanted to introduce myself.
i went to the kh for the first time 2 weeks ago...and will go again tomorrow.
i don't believe anything witnessy...(i was raised in the assembly of god church and now the closest thing i "do" with religion is yoga or sometimes the buddhist temple).... but the man i'm in love with is a df'd jw (we've been together for 6 years).... and he wants to get reinstated just to talk to his family again (i can assure you he does not believe it).... and he wants his family to accept me because we are about to get married... so, i'm going to meetings...its very interesting, but only because it shows me more about how he was raised.

If you are marrying this man, and he intends to be reinstated, know that your married life is going to be like this.....
1. He will put the Jws first in EVERYTHING
2. He is the head of the house and you will be expected to OBEY him
3. He would rather loose YOU than loose THEM
4. The JW will interfere in EVERY aspect of your married life, including sex, how you dress, how you conduct yourself, they are ALWAYS going to be watching you, waiting to pounce.
Please please please dont get the little children involved in anything to do with study, or the KH. Im begging you.
